A 14-member delegation of the European Parliament arrives In Dhaka on October 6 to hold the first inter-parliamentary meeting with the member* of the Jatlya Sangsad.

The Euro Parliament team will be led by Anita Pollack, MP. Chairman, European Relation* with South Asia and SAARC countries.

Thl* would be the first time that the Jatlya Sangsad will host an inter-parliamentary meeting.

The Euro Parliament is composed of representatives from all 12 European Community (EX) countries. There are 518 MPs. elected by universal suffrage by eligible voters In al) EC countries.

Citizens of the EC have two votes. One Is used by the voters to elect their national parliaments white the other is exercised when the electorates in all EC countries choose the members of the European Parliament.

The Euro Parliamentarians will also call on the President, Prime Minister. Speaker and the Leader of the Opposition.

The delegation will leave Dhaka on October 11.
