BUDAPEST. Aug 7; Bobby Fischer was reported to have left on a trip Friday that suggests the publlc1ty-shy American chess genius may be seeking a meeting with the head of the International Chess Federation, reports AP.

Fischer, 50. who made world headlines last year when he beat Boris Spassky in a rematch not officially recognized, could be seeking to mend fences with the federation, known by its French acronym FIDE.

FIDE stripped Fischer of his 1972 world champion title when he refused to defend It in a dispute over rules.
