TOKYO, Aug 7: Japanese newspapers on Saturday warned newly elected Prime Minister Morihiro Hosokawa that he would either reform a collapsed political system or lose the people s trust, reports AFP.

The Yomiuri Shimbum urged Hosokawa to achieve political reform within the year and to face up to international Issues affecting Japan.

If he fails to face up to his responsibilities, the coalition will soon lose people s trust' It warned.
