WASHINGTON, June 5: India is among the countries where global demand for automotive protection will reach staggering levels by 2000 A D and where American manufacturers of cars, with protective gear expect to sell their ware, reports PTI.

Projections by leading US automotive security manufacturers O Gara Hess and Efsenhardt have revealed that spurred by political unrest ethnic pressures and increased firearm availability in Russia. Turkey, Eastern Europe and India will generate "the most significant number of inquiries' by the turn of the century.

The United States will however top the list according to a press release.

India, the release said, is included in the projection list "because of the country's continued intensification of age-old religious differences and poor neighbour relations with Pakistan.
