LONDON, June 5: More and more people In Britain now believe that Europe Is more Important than America to Britain, according to findings of a public opinion poll released on May 31, reports Xinhua

The poll, conducted by Morl for the London Times, shows that 57 per cent of respondents regard Europe as most Important to Britain and only 15 per cent mention (he United States.

The gap Is even wider in the professional and managerial classes where 76 per cent say that Europe Is the most important to Britain and only 10 per cent say that America

This Is in a sharp contrast to a study in- 1969 when a third of respondents said America was most important and only a fifth said Europe
