CHICAGO, Mar 2: Tracy Aasttn. who last week played her first singles tournament since 1989, will continue her comeback by competing in World Team Tennis this summer, reports AP.

The WTT said Monday the 30year-old former US Open champion will play for the Raleigh Edge, one of 12 teams in the league. Austin played for the WTTs New Jersey Stars In 1989.

Last week Austin advanced to the third round of the Evert Cup, beating Rennae Stubbs and No. 12-ranked Katerina Maleeva. That marked her first competitive singles event since 1989, when her attempt at a comeback was halted by a car accident.

Austin, who at age 16 became the youngest US Open winner in 1979, will be joined on the WIT circuit by Bjorn Borg (Los Angeles), Jimmy Connors (Phoenix), Martina Navratilova (Atlanta) and Mats Wilander (New Jersey).

"1 am extremely excited to have Tracy as part of the team," Raleigh coach Tim Wllkison said, T feel that with her talent and enthusiasm the Edge will have a tremendously successful season."
