AMSTERDAM, Feb .1: Dennis Bergkamp inspired Ajax Amsterdam to a 6-0 away victory over Go Ahead Eagles Deventer on Sunday and stepped up the pressure in the Dutch soccer league title fight, reports Reuter.

Ajax arc enjoying a spell of irresistible form, having netted 14 goals In three matches tn the last week, and are now Just three points behind leaders Fcyenoord Rotterdam.

Fcyenoord took over at the top from PSV Eindhoven on Friday with a 1-0 win over Fortuna Slttard and held their two-point advantage when Injury-hit PSV slumped to their first home defeat in over three years — a 3-2 drubbing by RKC Waahvijk on Saturday.

But the top two are looking anxiously over their shoulders at Ajax, who overwhelmed bottom-placed SW Dordrecht ’90 4-1 last Sunday and trounced Vitesse Arnhem 4-0 on Wednesday with two goals apiece from Bergkamp and Edgar Davids.

Bergkamp and Davids led the charge again at Deventer, with Bergkamp opening the Ajax tally 1n the 18th minute and supplying the pass for Davids to score the second 10 minutes later.

Frank de Boer made it 3-0 three minutes into the second half and Wim Jonk added the fourth 20 minutes from the end.
