pfonships at the Dhanmondl Women s Complex pool yesterday.

Thirteen events were held In the day-long competition following the three-day national age-group swimming champtonship*.

The day began with Moniruzzaman winning the 400m free*tyle gold clocking five minute* 21.27 seconds.

Mohammad Hossain of Brahmanbaria DSA bagged the silver while Abul Bashar of REB picked up the bronze.

In the lOOm butter fly event for 18-20 year-olds, Mont-ruzzaman of BKSP clocked 1 min 4 89 seconds to clinch the gold while the stiver went to nls teammate Shahadat Hossain. Shahldul Islam Mlntu of Kishoreganj settled for the bronze

Shaheen Hossain of Rajshahi Education Board (REB) brought some variation In the list of the gold winners by bagging the 4OOm Individual medley in four minutes 83 seconds. Masud Rana of the same team took the silver.

Mlzanur Rahman of REB was the winner in the 200m breast-stroke. Raihanuddin Ahmed of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation tailed him to pick up the silver. Faruk Ahmed of BKSP took the bronze.

Moniruzzaman resumed his gold expedition winning the 200m butter-fly event gold. The successful swimmer took two minutes 48.21 seconds.

Masud Rana came second to manage the silver.

Moniruzzaman took 20 minutes 45.34 seconds to win

he gold in the 1500m freestyle gold. Abul Bashar of REB got the silver followed by Hossain who won the bronze.

Slddiqur Rahman of Madaripur DSA won the gold in the 100m backstroke. He took one minute 12.99 seconds.

Nurul Islam of GopalganJ bagged the silver while Shahin Hossain of REB settled for the bronze.

Mlzanur Rahman of BKSP was the gold winner in the 100m breast-stroke. He clocked one minute 14.07 secs. Rai han of BJMC took the silver while Abul Bashar of REB bagged the bronze.

Moniruzzaman of BKSP gathered the gold gong In the lOOm freestyle with a timing of one minute 01.07 secs.

Slddiqur Rahman trailed him to be contented with the silver while REB s Abul Bashar finished little later than his Madaripur, rival to pick up the bronze.

Moniruzzaman pick up the 200m backstroke gold in two minutes 41.64 secs.

Nurul Islam of GopalganJ DSA snatched the silver ahead of Masud Rana of REB who got the bronze.

Moniruzzaman struck the same note with which he started the competition by winning the last event of the day 50m freestyle in 27.05 secs.

Shahin Hossain of REB bagged the silver while Slddiqur Rahman of Madaripur took the bronze.

Bangladesh Krira Shlksha Protishthan emerged as the champions of this competition with ten golds, two silvers and a bronze, followed by Madaripur and Rajshahi Education Board who retained the champions mantle the day before yesterday in the three-day long national age-group championships preceding yesterday's prototype meet.

Asafuddowla, the Water and Flood Control Secretary and president of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation gave away the prizes as the chief guest.

Forty participants of 17 teams took part tn this daylong meet.
