CHITTAGONG. Dec 11 : Speakers at a public meeting here today expressed grave concern over continued terrorism on the Chittagong University campus by the Jamaat-Shlbir clique and the government silence over the matter, reports BSS.

They said that academic atmosphere was absent on the campus and thus the future of a large number of students had become uncertain.

The meeting held under the auspices of Chittagong University Terrorism Resistance Committee of tire citizens was presided over by the committee convener Prof

Muhammad Khaled. It was ad dressed, among others, by Advocate Ibrahim Hussain Babul. General Secretary of Chittagong Alnjibt Samlty. city Awam! League General Secretary ADM Mahluddln. JSD Advocate Abul Kalain Azad. Ganatantrl Party leader Advocate Shafhil Alam and CUJ President Akhtarun Nabi.

They called upon the au thorlty concerned to take stern action to flush out the terrorists from the campus and enable the students to continue their studies. Some o the speakers alleged that a vested quarter was conspiring , to shift the university by

keeping it under the Influence of the terrorists

The speakers also called for closing down the university halls for some time as a first step towards clearing the campus of the terrorists. They said, unless the authority concerned took effective steps to clear the campus of the terrorists. a university blockade programme would be taken up after the winter vacation.

They further said, people will come forward to restore Rule of Law on the campus If the authority concerned fulled to take appropriate action on the university Issue.
