The aborted sixth summit of the South Aslan Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) scheduled in Colombo December 21 will be a 10-hour conference, reporta UNB.

Diplomatic sources said yesterday the summit, according to the schedule, will begin at 9 am and will conclude at 6 pm.

The "mini Summit" will have its inaugural and concluding sessions to be followed by signing of the "Colombo Declaration."

Besides, delegates will go for a retreat within the city the same day.

The conference will be preceded by a two-day Ministerial Preparatory Meeting.

Heads of delegations are expected to reach Colombo in the afternoon on December 20 and are scheduled to leave for home next morning.

The conference will be held in Bandarnalk Memorial International Conference Hall in the centre of the capital. It was built in 1976 to host the Non-Aligned summit

The SAARC summit which was scheduled in early November. had to be postponed at the eleventh hour as King Jigme Singhe Wangchuk of Bhutan expressed his inability to attend it due to domestic troubles at home.
