A thirteen member inter-ministerial privatisation committee has been formed with the principal Finance Secretary as it* chief to work out the transfer of public sector industries and government shares of various commercial, financial and other institutions to the private sector, an official

source said in Dhaka on Sunday, reports BSS.

The terms of' reference of the committee is to review the present privatisation policy and formulate future policies in this regard, assessing the proposals of various ministries with regard to privatisation and adopting appropriate rec-

ommendation and place the final recommendations before* the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) and monitoring the implementation of the ECNEC approved policies regarding privatisation.

The other members of the committee are : Secretaries of the Ministries of Industry, Commerce. Jute. Textiles, Works, Planning and Law and Justice. Member (Industrie*) of Planning Commission, Executive Chairman of the Investment Board, Additional Secretary (autonomous bodies) of Finance Division, Joint Secretary (de nationalise and transfer) of Ministry of Industries. Joint Secretary (autonomous bodies) of the Finance Ministry will act as member secretary of the committee, the source said.
