AUXERRE. France. Oct 9 Auxerre have finally decided to play thetr UEFA Cup match against Liverpool at their own Abbe Deschamps ground and not at the Parc des Princes in Paris, reports AFP

Auxerre mayor and local member of parliament Jean-Pierre Soisson asked for the match to be played at Paris because he was worried about any trouble with English fans

But only 1.500 tickets will be allocated to Liverpool for the October 23 first leg match and club president Jean Claude Hamel said It would be asking too much of local fans to travel 100km (80 miles) for a home match

The local ground has 22,000 capacity

Riots at the 1981 European Cup final between Liverpool and Italy's Juventus killed 39 people and led to the banning of English clubs from European soccer for five years.
