Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia Wednesday greeted Carl Bildt on his assumption of the office of Prime Minister of Sweden, reports UNB.

"The government and the people of Bangladesh join me in extending to you our warmest congratulations on your assumption of the high office of Prime Minister of Sweden." she said in her message.

Begum Zia expressed her sincere conviction that under Carls leadership "the excellent bilateral relations that exist between our two countries will be further strengthened to the benefit of our two peoples."

She wished Bildt's good health, happiness and long life and the people of Sweden continued peace, progress and prosperity.
