Delivering a lecture on "democracy and political ac countability" organised by the Jatlya Press Club on the occasion of Its 37th founding an nlversary, Prof. Emajuddin said practise of the democratic culture was essential tn the per sonal life and party as well as national life.

The lecture, which was the first of the four-day series of lectures, was inaugurated by the Press Club President,

Prof Emajuddin said, "creation of something of high standard is difficult out it Is easy to undo it." In the parlia mentary system the responsibility of the opposition in building up the nation was no less than that of the government. he said.

He said, the fate of the democracy In the country depends on the behaviour ol both the government and opposition parties.
