Three arrested for murder
Sept 8 : Police recently arrested three people from village Zafarpur in Kallganj upazlla of the Satkhira district on charge of murdering a young lady of the same village, reports UNB.
The victim Nootjahan (26). daughter of Mandar Saha was called out of her house by one Mobarak on August 18 night and since then she remained untraced, latter on a case filed by her relatives, Kalfganj police carried out investigation on 7 suspects and could round up Moksed, Montu and Moslem.
The arrested were produced before the court of a First Class Magistrate where they made confessional state-ment.Thcy admitted that they killed Noorjahan and threw the body Into the river.

JSP condemns raid in Desh

Sept 8 : In an emergency meeting on Thursday Jessore Sangbadpatra Parlshad (JSP) protested the ransacking of local "Desh Hitaishi" office by the unruly,elements and assault on Salful Alam Mukul, the editor of the "Runner", reports UNB.
The Speakers condemning the Incident alleged that the miscreants also looted valuables from the office.
Mohiuddin Ahmed and Ekramuddaula, President and Secretary of JSP respectively demanded Judicial enquiry into the Incident and give exemplary punishment to the persons responsible for the attack.
They also urged the authorities to ensure safety of the working journalists and stop recurrence of such Incident in future.
Two absconding convicts held
Sept 8 : Police arrested two absconding convicts from Hlrpur village In Chatkhll upazlla of the Noakhalt district under Operation Doorbcr drive
police raided the house of Safiullah and Anowarul Kabir and nabbed them.
The two convicts had been evading arrest »ince long after a court sentenced them to Imprisonment.

Sept 8 : Eye disease has broken out in an alarming proportion in all the seven upazlla of the Chandpur district during the last two weeks, reports UNB.
The HSC and the SSC examinees of the district are the worst sufferers.
In Sadar area, the disease has taken a serious turn and members of almost all the families have been attacked by the diseases.

Sept 8 : Police arrested one Union Partshad member on two separate charges, reports UNB.
Ershadur Rahman, member of the Kaptat Union Parlshad under the Kaptal Upazlla was wanted by upazlla court for non-payment of agricultural loan on a case filed by Bangladesh Krishl Bank, Kaptal branch and for criminally assaulting a maid-servant, the sources added.
The arrested UP member was sent to Rangamati Sqb-Jail from upazlla hajat to face trial.

Sept 8 : Local police recovered a body of a young man from a bushy area in the out-skirt of the Narshingdi town, report* UNB.
The victim* identified a* Narayan Shaha (28) of village Razardl under sadar upazlla came out of hi* house on August 22 and did not return.
Next day hi* body was found hanging from a tree tn a bush near the town. Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital for autopsy
