The total amount of gov ernment securities held by I Bangladesh Bank stood at Taka 1782.72 crore on July 18.as shown on the asset side of Its Issue Department in the central Bank s statement of affairs released on Tuesday last.

Also on the asset side of the Issue Department, internal bills of exchange and other commercial papers totalled Taka 2783.08 crore and taka coin amounted to Taka 8.17 crore.

Gold and bullion deposits, the asset side, totalled Taka 81.59 crore and approved foreign exchange stood at Taka 200 crore.

On the liabilities side of the Issue Department total notes issued were shown to be Taka 3855.56 crore with Taka

41.70 lakh held by the banking department while the total notes In circulation stood al Taka 3855.15 crore.

On the liabilities side of its Banking Department, both capital paid up and reserve fund were Taka 3 crore CMch as before Rural credit fund amounted to Taka 147.44 crore, industrial credit Taka 47.78 crore, export credit

fund Taka 49 crore and agriculture credit stabilisation fund amounted to Taka 160 crore.

Government deposits also on July 18 totalled to Taka 50.73 lakh, deposits of banks amounted to Taka 1904.14 crore and "other deposits' were Taka 3906.51 crore. Also shown on the liabilities side of the Banking Department, allo catton of special drawing rights totalled Taka 91.74 crore, bills payable amounted to Taka 26.31 crore and "other liabilities" were Taka 861.85

Government treasury bills held by the Banking Department on its assets side totalled Taka 378.04 crore, balances held outside Bangladesh. Including cash and short term securities, amounted to Taka 3029.40 crore and loan and advances to the government stood at Taka 12.02 crore.

"Other loan and advances' stood at Taka 1353.41 crore. Investments totalled Taka 763.53 crore and "other as sets" totalled Taka 1666.47 crore, shown also on the asset side of the Banking Department.
