About 80 applications from different sick Industries have so far been submitted to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) till noon of Wednesday for consideration of the sick industries cell.

The FBCCI office was crowded with entrepreneurs willing to buy and submit ap-plicatlo’ns. The time for procuring and submitting of applications have been extended to August 28 and 31 respectively.

FBCCI sources said this extension of date has flickered new incentive among the industry owners.

Sources said about 177 applications have been taken by entrepreneurs till Wednesday.

The Initiative to sori out the industries which became sick due to situational causes was taken by the Ministry of Industry on June 15. A nine member cell with the Secretary of the Ministry will try to define sick industries.

It will identify the sick units in the light of the definition and try to find out the reasons of sickness. It will also recommend measures to help overcome the problem of industrial sickness.
