Shrimp farms extensively damaged during the recent cyclone and accompanying tidal wave In Cox's Bazar have sought financial help for rehabilitation.

In a statement Issued here Wednesday, the Rampur Ten Acre Shrimp Project Owners Association urged the government to provide Immediate financial help to repair the damages sustained by shrimp farms and begin production.

The association said that upto Taka 5 lakh will be needed to repair the shrimp farms in the area: They also urged for help in solving other outstanding problems faced by the shrimp farmers In the Chokoria and Rampur mouza of Cox's Bazar.
