CHITTAGONG. Feb 9: At least 50 persons were Injured, seven of them seriously. when Chhatra Shibir and Chhatra League (HA) workers clashed In front of Agra bad TAT Colony here today.

Seven seriously injured persons admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital are: Mansur Ahmed (22). Zlilur Rahman (15). Shahjalal (19). Abdul Latif (22). Formanullah (21). Shaheen (16) and Sobel (20)

The clash occurred when a group of Chhatra league (BCIJ workers attacked a Shtblr procession. A series of crackers were exploded. Firearms and cut rifles were used tn the clash.

At least five shops Including a sweetmeat shop were looted, ten election camps were ransacked and about 100 election symbols of 'boat' and 'scale' were damaged as the clash -spread all over the Agrabad Itolicc on duty remained Inactive during the clash.

Sporadic clashes occurred In different places of the city Including Kadamtali Statton Road and New Markel areas following the Agrabad incident.

Police were deployed at different points after the clash. None was arrested.

Shibir alleged that Chhatra League workers attacked its processton brought out in connection with its founding anniversary. Chhatra League and Awaml League workers alleged that Shibir processonist burnt AL election camps and symbols without any provocation. Chhatra Shibir leaders in a Press conference at Chtllagong Press Club blamed Chhatra League for the clash. They de manded arrest of the persons responsible for the incident within 24 hours.
