The Central Committee of i he Coordination Council of the Bar Associations, Bangladesh, Friday called upon the political leaders of all parties and the people of country to exercise vigil so that none could create impediments in the way of holding free- and impartial elections either through ill-gotten money or illegal arms, reports BSS.

The call was given al the extended meeting of the Central Committee of the Coordination Council of the Bar Associations, Bangladesh, held at the south hall of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

Presided over by Shamsul Huq Chowdhury, Convener of the Coordination Council the meeting was addressed among others, by Dr. Kamal Hossain. President. Supreme Court Bar. Altaf Hussain, President, Dhaka Bar Association, Presidents of

different Bar Associations of the country. Attorney General Aniinul Huq. and Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed.

The meeting. In a resolution, expressed concern at the violation of the code of election. application of force, incidents of clashes, murder and acts of violence by the participant of the February 27 general elections. The meeting, made a fervent appeal to ail parties, their leaders and the people of the country to exercise tolerance and maintain decorum for consolidating the foundation of democracy in the country.

It expressed anxiety over the price spiral of essentials in the wake-of the Gulf war and centering on the political situation and urged the government to take legal steps against the hoarders and profiteers
