CHITTAGONG, Feb 1; Non tribal farmers of Khagnichhari district today called upon the government to fulfill their six point demand In order to sal vage the poor settlers from extreme financial hardships, reports BSS.

Addressing a Press conference al Chittagong Press Club today, S.M. Itczaul Karim Helal. President of Khagrachhari Zila Bangalcc Krishak-Sramlk Kalyan Partshad said thousands of settlers living in 73 cluster villages of the district had been left at the mercy of armed insurgents without proper security measures. The insurgents raid the villages, loot property and kill villagers, he claimed.

The demands of tin Parishad include enhancement of monthly rice allotment from 36 kg to 120 kg per family, creation of employment opportunities by launching development projects, introduction of compulsory primary education and required medical facilities and payment of compensation for the crop damaged by Insurgents. ।

The President of the Partshad also protested against

the five-point demand of I'arbatya Chatlagram Chhatra Parishad, Parbatya Chattagram Chhatra Olkya and Parbatya Chatlagram Janasanghati which called for dissolution of Local Government Parlshads. He said Bangalccs of the dis-tricl wanted to live tn harmony with the tribal people with a view to solving various problem* for a better life.
